2 years ago, I went to see 3 separate doctors about my skin. I was referred here by a dermatologist (who after I stated the skin condition when I set up my appointment, said she didn’t deal with that, and referred me to ACENT Alaska Center For Ear Nose and Throat ). I called and had to wait a month to see the doctor. Later I get a call, saying that the doctor was going to be on vacation at the time of my appointment, and I had to reschedule, which meant waiting a total of 2 months to see a different doctor (Ellerbe). Completely unacceptable.
At the time I made the first appointment, this place was in network with my insurance. By the time I got to see a doctor, it was January, and all of a sudden, they were out of network (how convenient – an Alaskan trend!). I didn’t see Dr. Ellerbe for more then 5 minutes – he immediately that he didn’t deal with my skin condition (after knowing this was what the appointment was about 2 months ago), then said I should see his ethetician and start using the Obagi skin care line to reduce the freckles on my face and lighten my skin up. So, after waiting 2 months to get it, I get 5 minutes and am charged $265 for him to tell me that.
I naively went to his esthetician, and purchase only a few of the Obagi skin lightening products in the line (the esthetician said my own cleanser and moisturizer were fine), and the total for PART of the line was over $500! I later found a different doctor (Biehl) who sells the same Obagi products for less than half the cost that this place sells them. The entire line for a little less than $200, which is still expensive, but at least not ungodly so. So mad at what a rip off the other doctor’s office was! Don’t go here!
