I arrived in Chicago July 10, 2011 on American Airlines flight 333 about 30 minutes early so we had to wait for gate to open to disimbark from the plane only to learn my connecting flight 291 on American Airlines was delayed 5 hours due to mechanical issues. Gate of departure was changed 5 times without any overhead announcements and delay extended to 9 PM. After several attempts to find out from NO service customer service agents I called American Airlines reservations only to be told they had no new information but took my Cell number and email address to alert me of any changes. Gate changes kept happening and I was never notified by phone text message or email. After flight finally boarded and we got airborne by 10 PM for 6 hour flight to Anchorage , AK. Several passengers missed connecting flights out of Anchorage and American Airlines did nothing to assist those passengers. After 6 hour delay I thought my ordeal was over but my checked bag never arrived. I filed missing bag report prior to leaving Airport and they have not located bag. I was told at airport bag was held in Laguardia as it missed my connecting flt to Chicago. Now they can not locate the bag. American Airlines in now on my NO Fly List.
