My son called me to tell me that he was in Bestbuy and 30 minutes after arriving home someone from Bestbuy called him to let him know he won a free 27″ flat screen TV
all he had to do was to come in
identify himself and collect his prize. nHe was very excited and called me to tell me all about it. I asked him how they knew he was just in and he said it was from his rapid rewards card how he won it. nHe promptly went to the store and the security man looked at him and said
“”I am so sorry there has been a huge mistake
we caught someone on surveillence cam and we thought it was you but now that I am looking at you I realize I have the wrong person”” My son then asked about the TV. He was told there was NO TV. They had to do this to coax him into coming back to the store. The security man then gave my son a coke and thanked him for coming back in. nUpon hearing this I was outraged! I went to the Bestbuy within 30 minutes of my son coming home and demanded they give him the tv he “”won”” nThe security guy informed me that he couldnt do that. There has been a lot of shoplifting and this is what it has resorted to. That he really thought my son was the guy who had stollen an MP3 player until he saw my son and realized he had the wrong guy. I then said that I still wanted the TV. It was wrong to promise something and then not give it. I then demanded to talk to the Manager and the Assistant came and told me the same thing
