I bought a year subscription for ‘discounted movie rentals’ In return, I received no coupons that I’d paid for for aout 4 months. After calling their ‘customer serivice line’, being put on hold forever, etc. they told me that the coupons didn’t start until 2 months after I signed up… well… 2 months later, STILL no ‘coupons’ for the movie rentals I’d paid for! nSo… I called again! I did finally request a refund (after trying to resolve this with customer service,) and closed my account. Then a few months later, I received my first coupon (by then they owed me 5 coupons (which BTW I paid for with my ‘subscription’) I did receive coupons from then for a few months, then they stopped the subscription, which they said they’s honor because of the hassle, etc. only they stopped it 2 months early (they send the coupons out 2 months at a time.) nI called again, and was told my subscription had expired! (only to findout later it did not) n2 other people I know never received anything after paying for their year ‘deal’, had tried to call customer service, but after being on hold (on a long distance call mind you) for extended periods of time, these people gave up, never receiveing what they’d paid for. nWhile I did receive a few coupons that I’d eventually received a refund on, the long distance calls, and being on hold added up to more than the coupons were worth in my time and my phone bill. nI’ve since gone elsewhere to rent videos, yet my son did rent a video not long ago on my account… THEN I received a notice from their Dallas, TX office that the rental was ‘returned late!’ NOT! So now I get to call them again. I returned the video through their drop box the day before it was due! nI’ve also heard the local owner has a bad habit of firing kids after they have been there long enough to start getting benefits – corporate America at it’s worst! nI still sometimes buy videos there, but have decided that their year ‘deal’ of paying for an annual subscription is nothing short of a rip-off – likely at the corporate level, as the others I know that were totally ripped off for their paid subscription bought it at two different Blockbuster stores, one in Camarillo, one in Ventura (or perhaps Oxnard) nThe corporate office didn’t even have the correct subscription date, and blamed it on the store, the store said I could call the corporate office to clear things up, as this ‘deal’ was handled through that office. nI don’t in any way think this is a store problem, I *do* believe it IS at the corporate level. While they may have had the date wrong, it would have erred in my getting a couple of months more in coupons, not a couple of months less… nNeedless to say, I will not be buying their ‘subscription’ service for a year ever again. nCnOakview, CaliforniaU.S.A.
