I booked a condo today for coming Saturday (August 8th, 2009) for one night rental. The condo belongs to Carousel Resort Hotels and Condominiums at Ocean City, Maryland. The rate was $419 for that night. Everything went fine and I was able to book it without any issues online using my credit card. I used the online booking system and was able to book it perfectly fine for one night. I got two confirmation emails and I have those two emails as record. The emails gave me the confirmation and transaction number. I was happy and called my wife and my kids that I had a nice condo. My daughter was really happy. Another of my relative and his family was joining me as this was a 2 bedroom condo and can hold upto 8 people and it was right on the beach. I called them also and told about the rental. Then somebody from Carousel called me and said we are cancelling your reservation. I am really really upset and nothing like this has happened to me in my life. The reason they gave me was that this can be only two night booking. I was shocked and told them that your system allowed for one night booking and I have the confirmation and transaction numbers in my emails. But they said they are cancelling this transaction. I think this is customer service at its worst. Probably a third grade motel will not treat customer like this and that too after the reservation has gone through and I got the confirmation email also. If they don’t want to book it why give that choice on their booking web page. I have never ever experienced anything like this or even close to this in my life. I am so upset that a place like Carousel can treat its customers like this. This is just out of this world and I am feeling so upset and feeling that I am being treated like a third class citizen by Carousel. My family including my daughter is really upset as it will be really hard to find anything good this late and we all were so happy that we have a nice place right on the beach. I still can’t believe it that a company like Carousel can do this after I have gone through the system and had the confirmation and transaction number in my email box. Not sure what else to say. Still can’t believe it that a booking was made, everything went fine and I have the confirmation and transaction numbers and emails and then out of nowhere they cancelled it. I hope nothing like this will happen to anybody else. And I hope you guys or somebody will help me to get this right.
