Before purchasing a computer from CompUSA, I asked the salesman what the return policy was. He said I had 21 days to see if I wanted the product. The computer had a rebate for the computer, monitor and printer. I was told I had to mail in the rebate forms to get the refund. nI mailed in the rebate forms with the bar codes and other things the rebate asked for. After about 2 weeks I realized a notebook computer was better form my type of work and I purchased one from compUSA. nI then went to return the decktop computer within the 21 days. I told the clerk I has already sent in the rebate form so I didn’t think I was entitled to the full amount I paid. I wanted the purchase price less the amount of the rebate. The store refused to give me a refund for the returned merchandise because they said the bar codes were missing! When I first puchase the computer I was told to send in the necessary forms for the rebate, they NEVER said I would not get a refund if the bar codes were missing!! Rebate often have a time limit in which one must apply for thems! nCompUSA tells you to apply for the rebate, tells you you have 21days to return the item if you don’t want it, but then tells you you can’t get a refund (purcase price less the rebate) because you used the bar code to get the rebate!! This unjust and a deceitful business practice if. not fraudulant nCompUSA failed to inform me and the public about the rebate catch 22 situation. I am seeking a refund of my prchase price of $751.24 less the amount of the rebate (if I do get it). nI would like to sue CompUSA over this deceptive practice to teach them a lession. nAnthonynscottsdale, ArizonaU.S.A.
