It seems that Circuit City offers “open box”” items at a discounted rate
however they neglect to tell you the discount you receive isn’t worth the trouble it causes. nMy husband and I purchased a 60+”” Projection TV along with a SONY surround sound home theater system. The total purchase was almost $3000. nWe were assured that if we purchased a $300 extended warranty that the “”open-box”” item would be cover just like a brand new product. When asked what “”open-box”” meant
we were told “”the only difference is that your TV is bubble wrapped and not in an actual box””. nWhen we turned our TV on it had a green circle aprx 4″” in diameter in the dead center of the screen. We were told we could pay the difference of the “”open-box”” discount and a brand new TV and they would replace it. nWhen we talked to the store manager at the Arlington TX store he was unwavering and had not issue with us returning the entire purchase
closing our credit account and going to their competitor. The corporate offices reacted the same way. nDo yourself a favor. Don’t even bother with purchasing from Circuit City take your money to Fry’s or Best Buy where they care about the customers and know what “”customer service”” is.. nDawn McWhorternArlington TX Click here to read other Ripoff Scamss on Circuit City”
