I came to the DUCC after getting a dog bite because it was the closest place to the house. While the front desk and nursing staff were friendly and attentive, I found the doctor to be very terse and not particularly friendly.
My biggest concern about this place is the cleanliness of it. In my visit I noticed dirty floors, an iodine-stained sink, dirty drains in the floors and sinks, and ceiling tiles that showed evidence of roof leaks and molds. Additionally, much of the infrastructure appears to be pretty old, with cheap old particle board cabinets in the waiting rooms that aren’t in the best repair.
The biggest red flag for me was when I asked the receptionist where I should throw out a bloody tissue (biohazard)… she instructed me to put it in the waiting room waste bin that didn’t even have a bag in it. With the high probability of infectious diseases being present in a business like this, sanitation is of the utmost importance.
My advice is to go somewhere else even if this place is the most convenient for you. I would rate this at 1 star, but they get an extra one for the friendly nurses, quick in-and-out, and minimal paperwork required upon my arrival (only one sheet of paper).
