EIN Issue Scam Online

My Complaint: **Make sure you pay attention when directed to this website. It is deceiving!!. Check your web address which should clearly read IRS.GOV – NOT any other name even if the word has GOV. *** I googled “obtaining a new EIN” and was directed to this website. The website looked like it was the IRS website and presented the questions in the form as legitimate. After filling all the information for my startup, INCLUDING MY SSN, and entering my credit card information, I was presented with a page that described this was a company that was applying to the IRS on my behalf. I almost had a heart attack and I realized it was too late! I sent them an email asking to cancel my request to no avail. I am now calling my credit agencies to ensure a lock is put in my SSN due to suspicion of identity theft.

My Demand: Have the agency that regulates the internet close this sites!! Shut the scammer down!! Don’t allow them to be in business!!!
