Complaint: Jamie P. Miller was paid $60,000 under the names Milson Concrete and Millco Moving formerly of Sawyer, Kansas and now listed near Isabel, Kansas. He currently has been seen now and in the past on many of Smiley Concrete Projects and Heavy Metal Recyclers, both of Pratt, Kansas. This $60,000 amount did not included the sewer, gas, electric, telephone and water lines to supply services to the house. The project consisted of a new concrete foundation approx 25 by 52 and moving the house 20 to 40 feet depending upon which end of the house you use for measurement. After four months the job was not finished as he should of never even put in a bid as he did not have the moral integrity and work ethics, much less a knowledgeable crew and tools to get the job done. Waited in motel for a month until met engineer who did a professional report on deficiencies, including the failure to even attempt to anchor the mobile home near the recent path of a F5 tornado. Jamie P Miller did not embed metal into the concrete with anchor clips and bolts to attach metal beams and chassis of home to the concrete. The house was not level after charging $19,000 to move it 25 to 40 FEET (not miles, feet). All of the interior supports were missing needed to support the marriage wall and floor of the home. It is believed that the employees carried off materials, entered the interior of the buildings as building materials disappeared but no credit showed up on the invoices for the missing materials. He basically bid the job with only one full-time steady employee; and this employee probably belonged to Smiley concrete. There were no doors installed, five windows were not included in the price, excavation was not included in this price either. There were no suitable steps into either entry way of the house after it was moved. there is a sizable gap between the top of the concrete wall and the bottom of the home allowing air, animals, insects and rain and snow, ect into the basement foundation’s interior after paying Jamie Miller $60,000. We could list a lot more things but this should give you the general idea of how bad the work really was as it will not pass inspections by multiple persons. Hud books and the manufactures give out free plans and books on how to do these types of projects similiar to retrofitting a basement in three weeks(See finehomebuilders magazine approx Jan Feb 2011 issue). Do not ever let any contractor, much less any of the ones listed above, enter your property without a Certificate of Insurance mailed to you the property owner by the contractors insurance agent. Belatedly the Wichita engineering firms told us they do not even accept any bid with the contractors insurance information listed on the bid form. these engineers told us that we should have refused to accept any contractors bid that did not have verifiable insurance coverage. Too late now.
