Olson Landscaping and Design, Owner is Richard Olson Took my money and did not fulfill the contract- a crook! Arvada Colorado!!
The saga with Olson Landscaping and Design and son’s company, Olson Lawn Care continue. Rather than address issues with their service and non performance of the contract, warranty and agreements, try to resolve fairly, they hired an attorney; tells you their mindset. While they claim they bent over backwards, I am the one that was bent over. All I ever asked, finish what was contracted. Once paid, good bye! My attorney gave me some sage advice, just make sure whatever I post is truthful, which is the case since day one. If anyone wants to dispute my claims all they have to do is see the agreements and compare to the landscaping services performed. Just so you are aware of some additional FACTS, there are two more Yelp reviews, which for some reason Yelp did not make readily visible or factor into their “star” rating. That is a good thing; one of the reviews is one star and the other just 2, very low scores. One of the reviews states they would not return to correct a workmanship issue with a pond that leaks. List of issues: -Will not honor warranty agreement – 1 year from time of completion on materials, plants and workmanship – Olson provided a document committing to repair items on punch list which was not completed per the document and warranty. They claim they don’t have to honor the warranty since I would not sign off on completion of the work and satisfaction.If I did sign off as sarisfied they would have not honored it and blamed me. -7 dead trees, have to be removed and replaced. Charged $1380 to install one tree, did not include removing an existing tree. This should be covered by the written warranty for materials and workmanship. -14-16 dead bushes, plants. Also 2 of my existing bushes are dying due to no irrigation. Should be covered by the written warranty for materials and workmanship. -Did not install 2 2’x8′ walls PER THE CONTRACT. -Did not install 2 8×8 gardens, PER THE CONTRACT. They only installed one garden. -Did not install timbers to stabilize SW erosion problem PER THE CONTRACT. -Called for plants by the entrance/gate to the backyard PER THE CONTRACT and design pla. They did not install -Grass not removed and growing up though berm and stones. Grass should have been removed. -Existing edging was not removed along east border of yard asd ebtire south side. Should have been removed. -Garden irrigation – They initially did not bury the main irrigation lines and told me to do it myself when the weather was warmer. They finally buried the garden sprinkler line. -Lawn Sprinkler zones 4 and 6 not modified to provide proper coverage. One head, SW corner does not even work. So I have two heads to cover about a 150″ length. Olson tried to find the irrigation line and dug three holes. When they did not find it they claimed adding 1 or 2 heads, and fixing the head in the SW corner were not necessary. -Sprinkler drip zone, entire south and west areas, and at entrance to yard,about 50% of new and existing landscape trees and plants does not work. Surprise, found the line completely cut and not connected, water just drained out of the house and flooed my neighbors yard. -No drip fittings installed on ends of drip irrigation tubing to trees -Installed wrong stones type and size. PER THE CONTRACT, was supposed to be 1.5″ river rock, and another section was suppose to be 2-4″ Grey Rose cobblestone. He installed 6-10″ stone. No idea what type, but not river rock. -Stones – insufficient coverage, have to keep moving stones around -Stones were very dirty. As the dirt has washed off it has become a weed nightmare. -Flooding in landscape area due to location of gutter drainage pipe into landscape area -Flooding in NE corner; may be irrigation leak or improper drainage and slope -Patio flagstone are sinking, not level, same with walkway -Patio breeze not repaired, washed out so there are deep crevices between flagstone pieces and blocks -Fire pit stones are broken -Poor spacing between flagstones, large gaps and tiny pieces -Lighting – 2 broken lights, burned out transformer, stands for transformers to raise above ground total cost to me ~$250. -Olsons’ attorney claims they did work to “appease” me, majority is not factual. For example they appeased me when they had to turn on the sprinkler to check there work. How else did they think they could check a sprinkler system? And by the way, the sprinkle does not work. Shame on me, should not have made a final payment. Once that was done they walked and my only recourse is providing information and the legal system. Already working through the problems with the BBB and TeamDaveLogan.com who took appropriate action. Again, this would have been easy to resolve, fix the sprinklers, trees and bushes and I would have forgiven their other deficiencies, but they elected to force legal action.
