Overhead Garage Door Company Bait and Switch Overcharge Orange California!!

I called and got a preliminary quote of about $200. When Steve arrived he quoted $590. I hesitated and he lowered it to $488 to replace a coil spring and two cables. The job took two guys 20 minutes. I looked online and the spring costs about $40 retail. Unfortunately, I didn’t do my homework and this should’ve cost around $300. The invoice actually quotes $803 before “discounts”. There is a $13 disposal fee I didn’t notice for a 3 foot spring and cables I could’ve tossed in the recycle. There was no written estimate before the work began. Obviously, Steve knew just how to play the consumer because of how rare it is to have garage door done. I feel so ripped off so learn from my experience.
