I was left stranded by Spirit Airlines in Bogota Colombia last January 14th when I was denied to board a plane even after paying $963 for the flight, without warning nor refund.Spirit could not change my flight date as I requested within their policy and I had to buy another ticket from Niagara Falls NY to Colombia and then they cancelled my return. I end up paying for a round trip flight that I never used due to their failure, they just wanted to rip me off like they do to so many people. The government should protect consumers agains this airline scams.I filed a complain with the Colombia aviation authorities as well as the US Department of Transportation DOT’s Aviation Consumer Protection Division (ACPD and I will pursue them a small claims court in Niagara Falls NY and I’d appreciate any advise to succeed in all these jurisdictions.
