Complaint: The website ebook.bike is an ebook piracy website. This website offers authors to upload an electronic version of their books so that visitors to the website can download them for free. The problem is, once you upload your book, you no longer have any control over the book whatsoever. My sister recommended this website because she had been using it for years. She was under the impression that authors who uploaded their books had complete control over how many times their books could be downloaded and for how long they could be downloaded. her experience with such websites was primarily with Amazon.com which allows authors who self publish their books the opportunity to allow their books to be available for a short period of time to readers for free. I had written several fiction novels which are self published on Amazon. I was hoping to promote my book through ebook.bike as I had been doing on Amazon where I had complete control over my books. On Amazon, i coujld offer a book for free download for a period of 5 days. I could remove the book from Amazon at any time because I am the author, I own the copyrights, and I am given complete control of my books myself. I decided to upload my book, Blind Terror to ebook.bike. There is a page on that website that allows you to drag and drop your epub book into a text box. For days I agonized over whether or not I should upload the book. I saw no “Submit”” button or “”Next”” button on that webpage that would allow me to go to another step in the process as is the case on Amazon. My sister swore to me that this was a legitimate website where I could set the number of days that a book could be made available for download. At least
